| I have realized that I go through spurts of checking and writing on my xanga site. Well here is my short update for those who still read this thing.... Christmas break was very much necessary for me to keep my sanity and it has proved to be very relaxing and productive at the same time. I am anjoying my time with my family and look forward to the next few days with them as well. I have seen some very wonderful friends as well...good times...especially turning around (esoteric). New Year's eve is just around the corner and with that comes a few days left of break and then the return to work. I love my job and look forward to returning to work and getting things ready for the spring. Happy New Year......2007.....can you believe it is finally here?!?!?!?!?!? | | |
| Well, this is the week that my family goes above and beyond the even number of 20 members. Scott and Jennifer are, as we speak, in Ethiopia picking up their beautiful daughter Makenzie Ruth Haimanot Bouma. They have been waiting for so long to go and meet her, hug her and love her and it is finally here. I am so proud of them for taking this huge leap in faith to adopt from a third world country, as devestating as Ethiopia, and place all of their faith and trust in God to provide. They are great parents and will be provide an awesome, loving home for Makenzie. WELCOME HOME MAKENZIE!!!!!! | | |
| I guess an update is in order.... Since last week, I am feeling 100% better, having been given some really strong meds to take. I am thankful for the relief that these little tiny pills have brought to my stomach and to my body. I have been able to return to work and have finally gotten over the effects of my being absent. I think that it throws the kids off for a long time when they are subjected to a change in routine. We are indeed creatures of habit. I had some kids tell me they were going to leave school the next time I am absent because they NEED me there. Yet, those same kids are the ones who cause the most disruption and outbursts in my class. It confuses me but nonetheless it is what makes the job so interesting and fun. Tonight the Detroit Tigers were supposed to play the St. Louis Cardinals but there was too much rain and so it has been pushed back to tomorrow night. Bummer, I can't watch it....so keep me updated as to how the Tigers are doing....call the cell. Until then.....I'm out! | | |
| Last night I went to bed praying that I would wake up and feel better, however, God had a different plan. Instead of waking up feeling better, I woke up at 4:30 this morning and ended up going to the ER. I was there until 8:00 this morning. After many tests, x-rays, "G.I. Cocktails", and needles, I was released with a prescription and instructions on what I can and can not do. My stomach is messed up basically and it needs to settle down. So long story short....when something is not feeling quite right....take care of it. (Thanks Alison) | | |
| Today started out a normal day, however, not 20 minutes after arriving at school I started to feel awful. I can't remember the last time that I felt like this....oh wait....I have never had this feeling before. I have this awful PAIN in my stomach....it feels like someone took a balloon and blew it up as large as they could inside my stomach. I sure hope the pain goes away before tomorrow morning. I don't like being sick and alone. | | |
